The Backroads Band Biographies

Stacy - Vocals, Lead Guitar, Leader of the Pack

Stacy is the only surviving member of the original Backroads Band that was formed in the mid-1980's.  Being the founder of the group, he has seen members come and go, but has managed to keep the band's overall unique rocking country sound alive.  Stacy is the oldest member of the group, but you wouldn't know it.  He is still a kid at heart - heck, he still plays with rocks!  If it wasn't for Stacy, there wouldn't be a Backroads.  He is what holds the group together.  He is Backroads.

Jeff - Vocals, Electric guitar

Jeff joined the band in August of 1993 and has been an integral part of the Backroads sound ever since.  Jeff was sorely missed when he went to Kuwait to serve his country from August 2005 to August 2006 but is now back serving his country fans once again.  Welcome home Jeff!

 Ken -Vocals, Bass guitar

Ken has been a member of the Backroads family since March of 1993, and he and Stacy go way back to the early days when the band toured the circuit, although these days he sports an entirely different look. Ken is the hardest working member of the band and has always said he works his a** off - we now believe him -- Ken, where has it gone??  Ken's bass sound and dance moves definitely keep the groove going for the band.  SOMEBODY SCREAM!!

 John - Vocals, Keyboard, Handyman

John joined the band in the summer of 1999.  John's keyboard style definitely shows his gospel roots.  John sings a mean tenor that is a main component of the band's three part harmony.  John is very versatile and has been known to pick up a guitar or sit down at the drums.  You never know which direction he will go.  His electrical expertise and ability to piece together broken equipment has gotten the band out of many binds on several different occasions.

 Darryl - Vocals, Drummer

Darryl has been the Backroads drummer since October of 1998.  He plays a Roland V Series drum kit and is a perfectionist when it comes to getting his part right.  Darryl is one of the band's lead singers and gets a lot of practice singing karaoke.  He is the house  karaoke DJ every Wednesday night at the Alamo in Laurel - check him out when you get a chance.

Amy - Vocals, Acoustic Guitar, Keyboard

The guys were hunting for someone to fill in while Jeff was overseas in Kuwait.  John called Stacy one night and said, I found a girl named Amy Sullivan.  Stacy asked can she sing?  John said, boy can she and she's a lot purtier than Jeff!  Amy joined the band in September of 2005. She was officially initiated with tequila shots and all on July 22, 2006 after Jeff returned from his tour of duty. Amy has brought beauty, grace, and sparkle to the Backroads stage. John was right, the girl is purty and she can dang sure sing!!

Jack makes sure that the equipment arrives safely and on time (even if the band doesn't). He mixes sound from across the room and doesn't mind telling the band to turn down. Mr. Attitude is one of the main reasons the band sounds as good as it does.
